That's No Obstacle: Tough Mudder Awarding Cash Prizes At Every Event This Season

Cash prizes will be awarded at every Tough Mudder event in '17 for the first time, as the obstacle race series launches two new competitive races series this year. A new “Tougher Mudder” competitor wave will start at the beginning of every traditional, untimed race, with the top male and female finishers each receiving $1,700. Also, a six-event series dubbed “The Toughest Mudder” will launch with a total of $100,000 in prize money, comprised of eight-hour, overnight exclusively competitive races. The company is also launching the Tough Mudder 5K at its Nashville stop in August, a new distance for the brand.
