CBS Wraps Up Thursday Night NFL Telecasts With 12.0 Overnight For Packers-Lions Thriller

CBS and NFL Network combined to average a 12.0 overnight rating for the Packers' last-second win over the Lions, which was CBS' last "Thursday Night Football" telecast of the '15 season. The 12.0 rating is up 50% from Cowboys-Bears in Week 13 last year, but that game aired only on NFL Network. Packers-Lions also is up 35% from CBS' final "TNF" telecast last season, which was an 8.9 overnight for Chargers-49ers in Week 16 on a Saturday night. For eight telecasts, CBS and NFL Net averaged a 12.1 overnight, up 9% from an 11.1 for the nets' first joint effort last season (CBS).

ENEMY AT THE GATES: In St. Louis, Dan Caesar reports KMOV-CBS on Sunday is set to show a Chiefs game "for the fourth week in a row." But KMOV GM Mike Murphy said that the programming decision is "by luck of the draw with the schedule of games available to the station." He added that KMOV "isn’t trying to carry the Chiefs on a regular basis." The station "had little choice this weekend because of scheduling." Rams-Cardinals is in a Fox telecast in the 12:00pm CT window, "carried locally on KTVI, and the league’s television regulations prohibit a game being shown opposite the local team’s contest when it is playing at home." Therefore, KMOV "can’t show any of the five games CBS has" at 12:00pm (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 12/4).
