Trail Blazers G Damian Lillard's D Lillard 1 PDX Carpet shoe from adidas "went flying off store shelves in its limited-edition release Saturday morning," according to Allan Brettman of the Portland OREGONIAN. The shoe, with an upper "patterned after the carpet that is being removed from Portland International Airport, sold out in less than 30 minutes at the Foot Locker" at Washington Square in Portland, the "only brick-and-mortar retailer offering the shoe." More than 100 people "waited in line before the store opened." adidas PR Manager Madeline Breskin said that the shoe "sold out in under an hour at adidas.com and eastbay.com, the two e-commerce sites where the shoe was offered." Lillard on Friday "handed out pairs of the shoes to surprised travelers" at the airport (OREGONLIVE.com, 5/24).

NOT FOR SALE: In South Korea, Park Si-soo reports adidas Chair & CEO Herbert Hainer "has ruled out the possibility of the company selling Reebok and its struggling golf brand TaylorMade." Hainer: "We have now eight consecutive quarters of growth with Reebok. Why should we give it up now?" He added that Reebok and TaylorMade "will grow continuously as its 'key brands.'"
