CommScope Signs On As Daytona Rising Tech Partner With Hope Of Breaking Into Motorsports

North Carolina-based telecommunications company CommScope has "agreed to become the first technology partner" for Daytona Rising, the ongoing $400M renovation of Daytona Int'l Speedway, according to Jeffrey Cassady of the Daytona Beach NEWS-JOURNAL. The multiyear deal, which has "an option to be renewed," makes CommScope "the sixth firm to sign on as a sponsor, or partner, of Daytona Rising." ISC Chief Technology Officer Brandon McNulty said that a goal for Daytona Rising is "to add more technology partners as the project progresses." CommScope "will supply cable and other networking equipment for the project and will take part in ISC’s 'We Built Daytona' program that will give the telecommunications company a marketing presence, including signs, at the Speedway once renovations are finished." CommScope also "will receive suite tickets at the Speedway for guests and will be allowed to give tours of the complex to show off its contributions to the project." CommScope Senior VP/Enterprise Solutions Kevin St. Cyr said that becoming a Daytona Rising partner could help the company "win contracts to be a supplier to other motorsports tracks." CommScope "supplied materials" for both Levi's Stadium and AT&T Stadium. St. Cyr said, "We’ll use (‘We Built Daytona’) in our marketing when we go after other racing venues around the world, including those used in Formula 1" (Daytona Beach NEWS-JOURNAL, 8/28).
