World Cup-Related Merchandise Seeing Strong Sales Figures On Fanatics.com

As interest in FIFA World Cup has heated up in the U.S. over the past few weeks, so has the country's appetite for World Cup licensed merchandise. Online retailer Fanatics.com reports that 10 times as much Team USA gear was sold on its site in the first two weeks of this World Cup compared to the '10 tournament. The top-selling teams on the site over the last seven days have been the U.S., Mexico, the Netherlands, Brazil and Colombia, the latter of which has seen a sharp 400% sales increase. Top selling players on the site over the past seven days have been U.S. F Clint Dempsey, Brazil F Neymar, Argentina F Lionel Messi, Mexico F Javier Hernandez and Netherlands F Robin van Persie. The top-selling soccer apparel item on Fanatics.com has been Nike's Team U.S. home replica soccer jersey, while the best-selling non-apparel soccer item has been Wincraft's Brazil soccer beach towel.
