ACC Launches New Logo To Be Used With All Sanctioned Sports, Team Uniforms

The ACC is rebranding today with the launch of a new logo. While most fans will not see the new mark until the upcoming college football season, the ACC hopes to have it widely distributed by July 1, the date that Louisville officially joins the conference. It will be used with the ACC’s 28 sanctioned sports, on team uniforms, websites, social media, TV, licensed merchandise and athletic facilities. SME Branding, N.Y., did the work for the ACC. Senior Partner Ed O'Hara said the project took seven months and included interviews with more than 60 stakeholders, including ACC alums, athletes, university presidents and ADs. There were also fan focus groups. "The idea was to reaffirm themes of unity, tradition, and excellence and give them a 21st Century edge, along with a national reach, because the ACC is one of the most powerful brands in sports, not just in college athletics," O'Hara said.
