ESPN Holds Top Spot In ComScore Rankings For Fifth Straight Month, But Lead Is Cut

ESPN saw its margin as the most widely trafficked U.S. sports site tighten considerably in January, according to monthly comScore reach rankings, but held on to the top spot in the category for a fifth consecutive month. ESPN’s gap over No. 2 entity Yahoo Sports-NBC Sports Network fell from nearly 12 million unique visitors in December to slightly more than 4 million uniques last month. But ESPN continued its ongoing run topping both reach and engagement metrics, also leading the category with an average of 83 minutes per user during the month.
