YAHOO SPORTS' Kyle Ringo noted the Univ. of Kansas "debuted some pretty sweet new adidas uniforms" for its rivalry game against Kansas State on Saturday. KU plans to "wear the new look intermittently the rest of this season and next." There are two versions of the uniforms. KU wore the "CHALK" look against Kansas State, which are white with "Jayhawks" in "blue script in an upward slant," while the shorts feature "a 1946 blue outlined Jayhawk." The "PHOG" version of the uniforms are "grey and a reminder of the 1988 national championship season with a circus font outlined in red" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 1/13).

MONUMENTS MEN: In DC, Dan Steinberg noted George Washington Univ. has unveiled "special DC-inspired uniforms" for tonight's game against VCU. GW is calling them the “Monumental Home Court Advantage” jerseys. They are "something to behold; gray Nike uniforms instead of the traditional buff-and-blue, paying tribute to three familiar DC structures located not terribly far from Foggy Bottom." The uniforms also are "adorned with images of the White House, the Capitol and the Washington Monument" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 1/13).

CAT'S OUT OF THE BAG: Callaway Golf yesterday formally announced the signing of golfer Lydia Ko. GOLFCHANNEL.com's Randall Mell noted details on "exactly what she will have in her bag have yet to be released." The announcement has "been expected since Ko was spotted with a Callaway bag with her name stitched on it last month in her New Zealand homeland." Ko will make her "LPGA rookie debut next week at the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic" (GOLFCHANNEL.com, 1/13).

BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS: In Detroit, James Jahnke noted supermarket chain Meijer will begin selling Tigers P Justin Verlander's "Fastball Bars," a "chewy, chocolate-chip granola bar, in its stores this month." All proceeds will be donated to "Wins for Warriors." Verlander previously had "Fastball Flakes" cereal, which "also benefited charity." Meanwhile, former NHLer Nicklas Lidstrom this month at Meijer will "appear on the front of the box" of new "Detroit Hockey HerOes" cereal, which is similar to Honeynut Cheerios (FREEP.com, 1/13).
