Teams Prep Sponsor Activation Around Divisional Round Of NFL Playoffs

Home teams in this weekend's divisional round of the NFL Playoffs are readying activation plans. In S.F., where the 49ers host their first playoff game since '02, the five-time Super Bowl champs are giving away 66,000 red rally towels emblazoned with one of coach Jim Harbaugh's favorite slogans, "Who's got it better than us? Nobody." The giveaway is sponsored by U.S. Bank's FlexPerks rewards program and Derby of San Francisco outerwear. 49ers Chief Sales Officer John Vidalin said Microsoft Xbox is presenting sponsor for the game, adding that there are various ticket giveaways through Twitter and Facebook with sponsors and media partners, including the S.F. Chronicle and SFGate.com. For Saturday night's Broncos-Patriots game in Foxboro, Mass., team sponsors will activate in nearby Patriot Place. Dunkin Donuts is staging a “Pint for a Pound” blood drive with ticket giveaways and cheerleader appearances. CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar will also do a ticket giveaway. At the Texans-Ravens game in Baltimore Sunday, Xbox Kinect is the title sponsor and bought inventory across team-controlled media, along with sponsoring a high-resolution “fancam” photo fans can find online after the game and then identify themselves. Ravens VP/National Partnerships Kevin Rochlitz said an 18-stop bus caravan began Friday and will go to schools and retailers that are team sponsors. A Coke promo will offer game tickets. In Green Bay, the Packers are giving away rally towels sponsored by Kohl's, Oneida Nation and Bellin Health Care.
