Names And Faces: Visa Spot Next Up For Eagles' McNabb

McNabb Adds Visa Spot To National Showcases

In this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, Terry Lefton reports Eagles QB Donovan McNabb "should have five national ads on the air by the end of October, six if you count as national a spot for and seen solely on DirecTV." The next to be added for McNabb are spots for Visa, which will also use Bucs coach Jon Gruden and Dolphins RB Ricky Williams in separate spots by BBDO, N.Y. McNabb also appears in ads for Reebok and NFL Films (promoting youth football), Campbell's Chunky Soup and Lincoln Financial. McNabb is repped by CSMG's Peter Raskin (SBJ, 9/29 issue).

BOX OUT: T'Wolves F Kevin Garnett will appear on the cover of a Wheaties box as part of a new package offering consumers a free "NBA Ultimate Player" DVD. The package was unveiled yesterday at the Target Center (General Mills).

HAIR TIME: Alberto-Culver's Consort Hair Care for Men named ESPN's Dan Patrick as a spokesperson. Former Bears coach Mike Ditka served previously in that role, using the tag "No More Girly Hair Spray," which will be recaptured in new Consort broadcast and print ads featuring Patrick. Six different Consort spots will air on Westwood One Radio beginning in October, with print ad support starting in November (Alberto-Culver).
