EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          SI writer ALEX WOLFF was named President of the U.S.
     Basketball Writers Association for a one-year term (USA
     TODAY, 3/30)....N.Y.-based American Sports History (ASH)
     named former JP Morgan Managing Dir HERBERT HEFKE as
     President & CEO and KENNETH ROKO as Secretary & COO. Both
     will also be named to a new five member Board of Dir (ASH).
     ...Seattle Post-Intelligencer baseball writer JIM STREET is
     leaving to become Dir of PR for USA Baseball (SEATTLE POST-
     INTELLIGENCER, 3/29)....The Devil Rays named DAVE WRIGHT to
     manage the team's Web site.  He was PR Dir for the
     Independent League St. Paul Saints (PIONEER PRESS, 3/26).
