The Nagano Olympic Organizing Committee (NAOC) will
"break with traditional practice and have maps and programs
for next February's Winter Games produced by official
sponsors," according to the KYODO NEWS. NAOC officials
cited the "tight" budget for the change. The "official map"
of the Olympics will be produced by UPS, and the map will
feature the UPS logo and a company ad on the back side. It
plans to produce 600,000 copies in Japanese and 400,000 in
both English and French. The program will be produced by
Japan-based Matsushita Electric Industrial and will also
feature Matsushita's logo (KYODO NEWS, 11/12).
