MEDIA NOTES

          In Toronto, William Houston reports that CTV's proposed
     sports channel, CTV SportsNet, "is on indefinite hold,
     despite initial assurances it would be up and running in
     September" (GLOBE & MAIL, 7/30)....Big Shot Films has
     released its first soccer video, titled "Eric Wynalda --
     American Hero" (Big Shot)...."Access Hollywood" went behind
     the scenes with Fox's James Brown, Terry Bradshaw, Howie
     Long and Ronnie Lott for the taping of a "Fox NFL Sunday"
     commercial.  The spot "has the four football fanatics
     spoofing MTV's 'The Real World,' living together in one
     house watching football."  The commercial begins airing
     August 4 on Fox ("Access Hollywood," 7/28)....SI Presents
     has released its "Pro Football '97" issue nationally, a
     separate publication available at retail only.  The 180-page
     magazine has 16 regional covers (SI Presents).
