     The N.Y. POST reports federal prosecutors are probing
whether TV producer MARTIN BERGMAN tampered with witnesses on
behalf of his wife, LAURA BREVETTI, who was representing WWF
promoter, VINCE MCMAHON, who was on trial last year for
distribution of steroids (N.Y. POST, 11/22)....FORBES compares
the problems of LEON HESS' football team, the N.Y. Jets, to those
of his oil company, Ameranda Hess.  The company's share price
peaked in '91, while earnings peaked in '80.  Hess announced last
May that he will step down as Chair and CEO.  The company has
$1.1B in annual cash flow, but newer large shareholders may seek
immediate results from new CEO, JOHN HESS (FORBES, 12/4
issue)....NIKE FALDO's affair with 20-year-old Arizona Wildcat
golfer BRENNA CEPELAK is profiled in PEOPLE.  Header: "Golfer
