TIME TO GET DOWN TO DETAILS IN CHICAGO STADIUM PROPOSAL

It is time to "prepare for some hardball bargaining over the
details" of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley's stadium proposal,
according to today's CHICAGO TRIBUNE. Kass & Deardorff report
that at a news conference yesterday to discuss details of the
plan, Daley acknowledged "the tough part is only beginning."
Negotiations will begin tomorrow on "how much of the total
revenue package" would go to the Bears and how much would go to
the city. Bears VP of Operations Ted Phillips: "We are going to
meet on Friday to discuss financing terms ... at the same time,
we are moving forward with the Indiana folks, and we're meeting
tomorrow to discuss their proposal further. And we're optimistic
about that too" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 10/19).
