OILERS HAVE LAST MINUTE CHANGES TO PROPOSED SETTLEMENT

The Oilers announced yesterday they want changes to a
tentative settlement on the team's federal lawsuit enabling them
to leave Houston, according to the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. The Oilers
had tentatively agreed with the city of Houston, Harris County,
and Astrodome USA on a deal which would keep the team in Houston
until the end of '97, but leaving the team free to negotiate with
Nashville. Late Tuesday, the Oilers requested that a state court
lawsuit against the team be dismissed with prejudice, which will
prevent Harris County from suing later. It was unclear what
changes the Oilers wanted in their deal with Astrodome USA.
Sources with the Dome, county and city are "unsure" about
approving any changes (John Williams, HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 9/13).
WHAT HAPPENED TO "LUV YA BLUE!"? As of 5pm Tuesday, there
were still 21,000 tickets available for Sunday's home game
against the Browns (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 9/13).
