HBO's "Real Sports" examined the Korean Baseball Organization's return earlier this month in Tuesday night's episode (HBO).

Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball will begin its season on June 19 "under a plan that excludes fans." The announcement came as "the state of emergency was lifted in Tokyo and on the northern island of Hokkaido" by PM Shinzo Abe (AP, 5/25).

Lagardère Sports and Entertainment announced a new four-member exec committee ahead of a soon-to-be announced rebrand phase. The committee consists of CEO Stefan Felsing, COO Philipp Hasenbein, Chief Growth Officer Robert Müller von Vultejus and CFO Christian Peters (Lagardère).

WADA said that "additional targeted testing" was being planned to "eliminate gaps" as competition resumes after the coronavirus pandemic "harmed the fight for clean sport" (REUTERS, 5/26).

The Rugby Football Union announced that Tyrrells will end its sponsorship of the women's Premier 15s when the contract ends in August (REUTERS, 5/26).

Dutch club AZ Alkmaar wrote to UEFA urging it to overturn the Dutch FA's (KNVB) decision to award Ajax "the country’s sole automatic berth in the group phase of next season’s Champions League" (REUTERS, 5/25).

Rugby Australia on Wednesday will announce that the Western Force will take part in the domestic Super Rugby competition, "conditional, of course, on a satisfactory deal being done" with broadcaster Fox Sports (THE AUSTRALIAN, 5/26). 

The coronavirus pandemic is “threatening the very existence” of France's Top 14 rugby league and having to play next season “behind closed doors would practically condemn it” (L’EQUIPE, 5/25).
