Bundesliga To Offer AWS Advanced Stats During Broadcasts

The Bundesliga, using Amazon Web Services, debuted Bundesliga Match Facts during Tuesday’s Borussia Dortmund-Bayern Munich match, which aired in over 200 countries. The two new statistics, Average Positions and Expected Goals (xGoals), give fans insight into a team’s intended playing style and the probability of a player scoring a goal. The Bundesliga, which will use the AWS data as part of a multi-year deal -- the duration of the contract was not specified -- is the first league to feature real-time advanced stats during a match. Bundesliga Match Facts are generated based on data from live video feeds streamed into AWS for analysis.
