49ers To Wear Traditional Away Uniform For Super Bowl

The 49ers will wear their "traditional road jerseys" in Super Bowl LIV -- white jerseys with gold pants -- while the Chiefs as the designated home team will "wear their dark jerseys." This comes after there was a "brief thought" the 49ers "could go back" to their all-white alternate uniform look for the game in Miami. It was "not immediately known if the 49ers petitioned the NFL to wear their all-whites" (NBCSPORTSBAYAREA.com, 1/20).

Meanwhile, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan and GM John Lynch both agreed to six-year deals with the team in '17, and CEO Jed York was asked about signing them to contract extensions. York replied, "I want those guys here for a long time. If they want to do something, I'd be happy to do it" (San Jose MERCURY NEWS, 1/20).
