Overwatch League Unveils Kits For Upcoming '20 Season

Overwatch League has revealed its new kits for the ’20 season, and the jerseys were made as part of a collaboration with designer Jeff Staple. The league said the new kits are meant to be lightweight and “feature elevated fabrics, premium graphic applications, new side gussets for adjustable comfort, and a fit that is cut and sewn to increase quality and wearability while gaming.” All 20 teams will have their own kit for the season, which launches Feb. 8 at Hammerstein Ballroom in N.Y. in an event hosted by the N.Y. Excelsior, which is owned by the Wilpon family. The jerseys will go on sale next week on the league’s e-commerce site.

Meanwhile, OWL sister property Call of Duty League has gotten T'Wolves F Karl-Anthony Towns to commit to taking part in the league’s kickoff event in Minneapolis next week. Towns will take part in a Hype Battle portion of the event which will feature celebrities, athletes and influencers playing Call of Duty in between the pro player games. The event is taking place at The Armory and is being hosted by the Minnesota Rokkr, the team owned by the Vikings’ Wilf family. The team expects to sell 10,000 tickets to the event. Both OWL and CDL are owned by Activision Blizzard.
