Target Extends MLS Partnership With New Five-Year Pact

Target is set to remain an official partner of MLS under a new five-year deal announced today through '24. Terms of the partnership were not disclosed. The brand’s investment at the league level dates back to '17 and also includes kit sponsorship of Minnesota United, as well as being the sleeve partner for LAFC. Target’s renewal with the league coincides with L.A. and Banc of California Stadium being named the host for next summer’s MLS All-Star Game, where Target will continue as a presenting partner.

For the '20 midsummer event on July 29, MLS and Liga MX all-stars will square off for the first time, as the league debuts a new format for the game. MLS Commissioner Don Garber called L.A. "one of the great soccer markets in North America" and said the league "wanted to deliver a unique and unprecedented format" for the All-Star Game. He said bringing Liga MX into the fold is the "perfect way to build on the growing relationship between the two top soccer leagues in the region."
