By Ben Fischer

Gold Medal-winning U.S. swimmer Katie Ledecky has signed a deal to join MilkPEP’s “Built with Chocolate Milk” campaign. She will start doing media appearances for the dairy consortium on Aug. 6. As a heavy favorite to win multiple Golds again at the '20 Tokyo Games after dominating at Rio '16, Ledecky is widely seen as one of the most commercially desirable members of Team USA. She turned pro in '18 and signed a record-setting swimwear deal with TYR Sports. As a USOPC sponsor, MilkPEP would be able to use Ledecky in Olympic campaigns without a Rule 40 waiver. Ledecky is repped by Wasserman.

Meanwhile, Michael Phelps' MP Brand has signed Olympic and pro swimmer Chase Kalisz as an endorser of its training equipment and performance swimsuits. Phelps and Kalisz are both repped by Octagon.

This comes after the Galaxy recently added dedicated supporters’ tailgate areas just outside the north end of the stadium (Galaxy).

NWHL, Lightning Pair Up For Teaching Clinics In Tampa

Collin Huguley

The NWHL has partnered with the Lightning to put on street hockey and on-ice clinics at Tampa's Brandon Ice Sports Forum on Aug. 16 in an effort to draw more girls to the game. NWHL Buffalo Beauts C Taylor Accursi and Boston Pride D Mallory Souliotis will serve as guests coaches. “The Lightning have been leaders in advancing the game and illustrating that hockey is for everyone,” NWHL Commissioner Dani Rylan told THE DAILY. “It was their idea to add the street hockey component, which was really smart because we can introduce the game to any girl who wants to pick up a stick.”

This marks the second time the NWHL has partnered with an NHL team to help grow interest in that market. The league did the same in February when Nashville hosted the NWHL All-Star Weekend, which also featured teaching clinics.
