MLS Reveals '19 Home Openers; FC Cincinnati To Debut On Road

MLS today unveiled the "home-opening matches for each of its clubs" in '19, and highlights include expansion club FC Cincinnati playing its "first-ever MLS regular-season match on March 2, the league's opening day," against the Sounders in Seattle. FC Cincinnati will "open its home schedule" at Nippert Stadium on March 17 against the Timbers, and it will serve as the home opening opponent for '18 MLS Cup champion Atlanta United on March 10 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (CINCINNATI.com, 12/20).

Minnesota United's new stadium, Allianz Field, "opens April 13 with a game" against the Red Bulls. The Timbers' home opener is "not until June 1" against LAFC, with Providence Park "in the midst of a 4,000-seat expansion" (AP, 12/20).
