Buck had two years remaining on his contract, so as he "turns 50 next year, he will be in the midst of what is in essence a five-year deal." He said, “There wasn’t a lot of posturing. Cohen is currently President of Sports for The Switch, a video solutions service provider. Cohen was part of the '16 SBJ class of Champions.

HOF Game Invokes More Discussion Around NFL's Helmet Rule

The NFL's new helmet-lowering rule has been a hot topic of discussion since Thursday night's Bears-Ravens HOF Game in Canton, with NBC's Al Michaels noting it will be something top of mind "probably throughout most of the season" until the officials "figure out how to get this exactly right" ("Bears-Ravens," NBC, 8/2). ESPN's Steve Levy said it will "lead to a lot of discussion, and I'm not sure the officials themselves know" the exact rule ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 8/2). ESPN's Scott Van Pelt noted there is "going to be so much conversation and frankly, freak out, from fans and social media" ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 8/3).

FS1's Chris Broussard said the rule will "make games longer, (and) it's going to certainly frustrate defenders" ("First Things First," FS1, 8/3). ESPN's Mike Greenberg: "If one thing is clear, we still don't know what a legal tackle is" ("Get Up!," ESPN, 8/3).

Take-Two CEO Talks Success Of "NBA 2K" Franchise

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick appeared on CNBC’s “Squawk Alley” to discuss the company’s earnings and the success of the "NBA 2K," noting the video-game industry "really has been transformed" in the current social media climate. Zelnick: "When you have a hit title, we have now found that you can engage and captivate consumers on an ongoing basis. So titles that used to be in the market for a month or two months or three months can extend for almost a year.” Zelnick: “Basketball, for example, used to be a pretty short seasonal game. Now our fans will stay involved and engage with ‘NBA2K’ for nearly the full year, and then they have an opportunity to buy the next season” (“Squawk Alley,” CNBC, 8/3).
