Latest Version Of "RBI Baseball" Heavy On New Features

MLBAM today released “RBI Baseball 18,” the latest version of its ongoing revival of the classic '80s and early '90s video game franchise. Today’s released versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One X follow a significant move by MLBAM to develop the game fully in-house with a wide range of new features including updated graphics, licensed music and a new franchise mode with more than 100 MLB legends. It also marks the start of a series of video game releases planned this spring by MLBAM.

Baseball’s digital arm on March 27 will release iOS versions of “RBI Baseball 18,” as well as a new version of “MLB Home Run Derby Mobile” that will feature Nationals Park, site of this year’s real-life Home Run Derby and MLB All-Star Game. Those games will be followed later this spring by “RBI Baseball 18” on Android devices and the Nintendo Switch, as well as the rollout of “Home Run Derby VR,” marking the introduction of a consumer version of the game in the enhanced format. MLBAM was invited to present “RBI Baseball 18” this week at the Game Developers Conference in S.F.
