Length Of Elliott's Suspension Draws Myriad Reaction On Twitter

Many people took to Twitter on Friday following the NFL's suspension of Cowboys Ezekiel Elliott. Sportswriter Jane McManus: “The NFL wouldn't have issued six games if front office didn't think it would stand up to appeal.” Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman: “The NFL must believe it has a ton of evidence against Elliott. Emphasis on believes.” CBSSports.com’s Pete Prisco: “Pile on the NFL all you want here -- and where is the consistency? -- but clearly the investigators found something.” ESPN’s Bill Barnwell: “Probably not a surprise the NFL waited until after the Hall of Fame ceremony to announce the Elliott punishment.”

One consistent theme was a comparison of Elliott’s suspension and the one-game ban last year for former Giants K Josh Brown. Dallas-based KRLD-FM’s Troy Hughes: “So Ezekiel Elliott was never charged and got 6 games, but Josh Brown admitted to abusing his wife and got 1 game.” PFT’s Michael David Smith: “I want to hear Roger Goodell explain what Ezekiel Elliott did that's six times as bad as what Josh Brown did.” Yahoo’s Shalise Manza Young: “Brown was documented serial abuser. Unless it's another ‘well we see how that went, let's crack down now’ NFL decision.” NJ.com’s James Kratch: “Josh Brown got one game because the NFL screwed up. Ezekiel Elliott likely got six in part because the NFL learned from that screw-up.”
