Turner Sports Enhancing Digital Experience For ’17 PGA Championship

Turner Sports will enhance its digital efforts for the PGA Championship in August at Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club. Turner Senior Dir of Business Operations and PGA.com GM Gary Treater today said PGA.com will have an all-new digital site and mobile platform for the event. Digital streaming also will be made available on the Roku app for the first time. Turner partnered with Google to create an interactive course explorer for the event’s official app. More than 5,000, 360-degree photos were recently taken at Quail Hollow and will be stitched together, allowing fans to go “inside the ropes,” Treater said. A new “Roar Alerts” feature is also being created for the app, sending push notifications to users with video content of big moments that happen on the course.
