Rembert Browne Leaving Grantland, Headed To N.Y. Magazine

New York Magazine today announced that Grantland's Rembert Browne has joined the publication as writer-at-large, covering culture in its broadest definition. He begins his new role Nov. 16. Browne has been at Grantland since '11 and hosted the "Rembert Explains" podcast (New York Magazine). The move marks the latest in a series of departures from Grantland by significant contributors (THE DAILY).

Browne on his Twitter feed wrote he has "no dirt to spill about grantland & ESPN. because this place gave me a career. so save yourself a dumb email." Toronto Star's Bruce Arthur: "Really bummed about what's happening to Grantland. So many great writers there, and great people. Best thing Bill Simmons ever did." Bleacher Report's Howard Beck: "Damn. Rembert is excellent. Hate seeing this happen to Grantland."
