A's Wolff Comes Out Against "Coliseum City" Plan, Cites Parking

A's co-Owner Lew Wolff said that if his team were to build a new ballpark at the O.co Coliseum site, he "would want it surrounded by acres of surface parking spaces just like" the area is currently. Wolff said that there is "not enough land readily available at the Coliseum complex to build a stadium and satisfy the city's desire for additional development." This marks "another potential blow" for turning the area into a "bustling sports and entertainment district." The city of Oakland's proposed Coliseum City development is being "billed as the only way to keep" the Raiders in town (MERCURYNEWS.com, 2/26).

The ruling "sends the case back for further proceedings consistent with the rules" of the CBA (ESPN.com, 2/26).
