Bills Select Morgan Stanley, Proskauer To Handle Sale Of Team

The Bills today announced that they have selected Morgan Stanley as the financial firm and Proskauer as the law firm to handle the team's sale. Bills President & CEO Russ Brandon said, "This is a big step. Now everything's in place." Morgan Stanley and Proskauer "will conduct an audit of the team and assemble a data book for prospective buyers to review." The team announced that their "advisers will begin contacting prospective buyers within the next 30 days" (BUFFALONEWS.com, 5/21).

MLB Network Names McGlarry Exec VP/Content, Replacing Loomis

MLB Network today appointed Rob McGlarry Exec VP/Content, filling a slot that has been vacant since last year when Mark Loomis moved over to Fox Sports. The net announced the move during an internal meeting. McGlarry in his new role will oversee the production and programming departments and will report to MLB Network President & CEO Tony Petitti. McGlarry previously headed up MLB Network's business and legal affairs, as well as its affiliate relations departments. Those responsibilities now will be handled by VP/Business & Legal Affairs Erick Van Tuyl and VP/Distribution, Affiliate Sales & Marketing Brent Fisher.

M&T Bank's Extension With Ravens Worth $60M Over 10 Years

The Ravens and M&T Bank Stadium today formally unveiled a 10-year, $60M extension of their stadium title sponsorship deal. M&T has had its name on the venue since '03, when it inked a 15-year, $75M agreement. As part of the deal, M&T and the Ravens "will contribute $600,000 to establish the Judith P. Hoyer Early Child Care and Family Education Center" to "increase school readiness for at-risk kids under age five and their families." The project is being organized by the Baltimore Community Foundation (BIZJOURNALS.com, 5/21).

Budweiser Unveils Activation Around FIFA World Cup Sponsorship

FIFA World Cup sponsor Budweiser today unveiled at-tournament activation for it "Rise As One" campaign around the '14 event in Brazil. Efforts will include the "Celebrate As One" centerpiece TV ad and the unveiling of the Budweiser Hotel on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. The TV spot, filmed in black and white, emphasizes the unifying aspects of the World Cup beyond national and team boundaries. Budweiser will host a red carpet hotel opening on June 12 (Anheuser-Busch).

Skechers Signs Pete Rose As Endorser, Will Launch Humorous Ad

Skechers today announced that it has signed Pete Rose as an endorser and will launch a new ad campaign featuring the former MLBer in the fall of this year. The Rose campaign for Skechers will feature a TV spot for Relaxed Fit footwear utilizing the same lighthearted tone as previous spots starring Pro Football HOFer Joe Montana and Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban, as well as an upcoming ad starring Pro Football HOFer Joe Namath. The campaign will extend through '15 (Skechers).

Magic Launch Consumer Contest Based On '14 NBA Draft Order

The Magic today announced the launch of a "Guess the Draft Order 2014" contest, offering consumers the chance to win $100,000 for accurately predicting the players drafted 1-14 in the '14 NBA Draft. The promotion officially began yesterday and will close at midnight on June 22. The contest is open to Florida residents 18 and older who live within 75 miles of Orlando. If no one accurately predicts the order of players drafted, one person will be dawn from all eligible entries and awarded two season tickets for the '14-15 Magic season (Magic).

Sports Business Awards Feature 15 Categories, Rooney Tribute

SportsBusiness Daily and SportsBusiness Journal tonight host the seventh annual Sports Business Awards at the N.Y. Marriott Marquis at Times Square.
