Biden Says "We Own The Finish Line" Ahead Of '14 Boston Marathon

An invitation-only crowd of about 2,500 attended today's ceremony at Hynes Convention Center to mark the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings (AP, 4/15). Vice President Joe Biden spoke during the gathering about next Monday's '14 Boston Marathon: "On Patriots Day, when I'm told up to 36,000 people will line up to start the marathon, you will send a resounding message around the world. ... We are Boston. We are America. We respond, we endure, we overcome and we own the finish line." A flag-raising ceremony and moment of silence was held at the marathon finish line. The flag was raised by MBTA police officer Dic Donohue, who was shot while pursuing the bombing suspects (WCVB.com, 4/15).
