LeBron James Pitching Obamacare In PSA Timed For March Madness

The Obama administration has tapped Heat F LeBron James to star in an Affordable Care Act PSA, "similar in style" to the spots featuring Magic Johnson. The 30-second spot, released in time for March Madness and ahead of open enrollment ending on HealthCare.gov March 31, will air on ESPN, ABC, TNT and NBA TV during NBA games and on "local sports programming in markets with a high concentration of uninsured people."

James said of possible backlash for taking a position on the controversial initiative: "I know that everything that I do is going to be bigger than what it should be or blown out of proportion. But what I believe in and the people that I support is what it's all about. So I can sleep comfortably at night" (BLEACHERREPORT.com, 3/14).
