Amazon's Pilots Include Football-Themed Comedy "The Rebels"

Amazon today released its new slate of pilots for free on Amazon Instant Video, and among the 10 offerings this season is a football-themed comedy titled "The Rebels." The show follows an ex-cheerleader, played by Natalie Zea, after her "husband dies and leaves her the owner of the fictional Los Angeles Rebels pro-football team." The series was written by Jeremy Garelick and Jon Weinbach and has "creative support" from Ice Cube and Fox' Michael Strahan. Amazon will use "viewer consumption and feedback when deciding which pilots to pick up" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 2/6).
