AutoZone Inks Multiyear Sponsorship Deal With Penske Racing

Penske Racing today announced a multiyear associate-level sponsorship with AutoZone. The auto parts retailer will be featured on the No. 22 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car driven by Joey Logano. It will kick off its sponsorship this weekend at Phoenix Int’l Raceway as the primary sponsor of Penske’s Nationwide Series No. 48 car driven by Ryan Blaney. The company used to be a sponsor of Richard Childress Racing in '07, but it has been out of the sport for several years. It has more than 5,000 stores in North America. It also sponsors the Liberty Bowl and the Grizzlies.

In a statement, AutoZone CEO Bill Rhodes said, “When you decide to enter into an agreement like this, you want to work with a company that everyone respects and that’s what Penske Racing is, especially in the motorsports world. ... To get to work with an up-and-coming driver and a car guy like Joey Logano is about as good as it gets.”
