Silverdome Owners Pitch Plan That Includes MLS-Ready Stadium

Triple Properties, the Toronto-based owners of the Pontiac Silverdome, have submitted a bid for Wayne County, Mich., justice department sites "in hopes of opening a stadium" for a Detroit MLS team, "along with a mall, residential space and office towers." Triple Properties Managing Dir Steve Apostolopoulos said that his firm "has been in discussions with MLS" about a Detroit team since acquiring the Silverdome in '09, but the league "had reservations about a team in Pontiac" (CRAINSDETROIT.com, 7/24).
