Cosmos Agree To 10-Year Lease Deal For Long Island Practice Facility

The N.Y. Cosmos will invest $400,000 in infrastructure as part of a 10-year lease deal with Nassau County on Long Island for the team to have its practice facility at Mitchel Field. The property is adjacent to Hofstra Univ., where the club will play its home matches when the NASL fall season begins in August. The Cosmos, who won an RFP in March to develop the field, said the facility will also be available for public use. Renovations are expected to take two months to complete (Christopher Botta, Staff Writer).

Meanwhile, Cosmos COO Erik Stover sits for a Q&A with the N.Y. TIMES' Jack Williams and discusses issues ranging from the use of the Hofstra stadium to signing players and reviving the Cosmos brand (NYTIMES.com, 4/8).
