Fujita's Meeting With NFL Canceled; Vilma's Lawyer Subpoenas Williams

Today's scheduled meeting via video conference between Browns LB Scott Fujita and NFL officials has been canceled. Sources said that the meeting regarding Fujita's alleged role in a Saints bounty program is "expected to be rescheduled." Saints DE Will Smith and free agent DT Anthony Hargrove also had meetings scheduled for today, and it is "unclear whether they will proceed" (CLEVELAND.com, 9/18).

Meanwhile, a source said that Peter Ginsberg, the attorney representing Saints LB Jonathan Vilma, has served former Saints defensive coaches Gregg Williams and Mike Cerullo with "subpoenas in his defamation suit" against NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Williams and Cerullo "appear to have provided most of the evidence the league used" in handing out its bounty punishments (ESPN.com, 9/18).
