NHL Releases Regular-Season Schedule For '11-12 Season

The NHL today released the regular-season schedule for the '11-12 season, which will begin Oct. 6 with a North American tripleheader featuring Flyers-Bruins, Canadiens-Maple Leafs and Penguins-Canucks. The Compuware NHL Premiere games in Europe will be held Oct. 7-8 with the Ducks, Sabres, Kings and Rangers playing a total of four games in Stockholm, Helsinki and Berlin. The relocated Thrashers franchise will host the Canadiens at MTS Centre on Oct. 9 in the first NHL home opener in Winnipeg since '95. The Rangers will have the most unique start of the season as the team will play its first seven games on the road due to ongoing renovations to Madison Square Garden (NHL).
