Dean Jordan is the Managing Executive of Properties at Wasserman, leading all client media rights strategy and negotiation representation engagements and focusing on media rights negotiations, revenue growth and strategic analysis.
Jordan is currently the Atlantic Coast Conference’s representative in its partnership with ESPN for the ACC Network launch; manages several initiatives on behalf of the NCAA; and is driving the creation of the CFP Tech Expo during the CFP Championship Game in January 2019.He has previously led Wasserman’s successful media rights representation of such collegiate clients as the new College Football Playoff, the University of Notre Dame, the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 12, and Mountain West, among others. He also directed Wasserman’s efforts with both media and non-media related engagements for clients such as the United States Golf Association, NASCAR, Major League Soccer, United States Tennis Association, United States Olympic Committee and private investors.
Jordan’s career spans 35 years and includes senior executive experience across team sports and media. As a member of the Executive Management Team at OnSport, he led the firm’s sports properties and media consulting efforts until it was acquired by Wasserman in 2007. Prior to OnSport/Wasserman, he spent two years as President and COO of the Carolina Hurricanes. From 1991 to 1998, he concurrently held senior executive positions with Huizenga Sports and Entertainment (HSE) properties and Front Row Communications, a company created to manage HSE’s media investments and the collective marketing efforts for HSE properties. As President of Front Row, he led the successful development of the company’s regional sports network venture and oversaw other HSE media investments.
Jordan served on the National League Television Committee and a special MLB Committee convened to address Superstation policies. He also represented Huizenga’s position on board of the Baseball Network, the short-lived joint venture between MLB, ABC and NBC. As a hockey executive, he represented both the Panthers and Hurricanes on the NHL’s Board of Governors.
