Two senior executives at the NFLPA will be leaving soon, the first of several expected departures as new Exec Dir LLOYD HOWELL begins to reorganize the union to fit his vision.
NFL Players Inc. President STEVE SCEBELO will be leaving on March 1, according to multiple sources who have seen internal memos describing the moves. Also, CFO CHARLES ROSS's last day will be Friday, sources said.
Scebelo has been a key leader in the union’s expansion of its commercial business, first as vice president, licensing and business development from 2013 to 2020, and then as president of Players Inc. since 2020. He is a current board member of OneTeam Partners, the group licensing business cofounded by NFLPA, MLBPA and RedBird Capital Partners.
Ross has been with the union for 14 years.
Sources expect the NFLPA will likely be thoroughly overhauled at the top ranks as Howell continues to evaluate the organization he inherited last summer, being elected to replace DEMAURICE SMITH after 14 years at the helm. Sportico first reported Ross and Scebelo’s announced departures.
