Washington Spirit Owner May Sell Majority Stake In NWSL Club

NWSL Washington Spirit Owner Bill Lynch is "in talks about selling a majority stake in the organization to local tech executive Steve Baldwin." Lynch "would retain close to" a 50% share in the team, according to a source. The Spirit have "averaged about 3,700 fans for home matches, a figure that is close to the break-even point for Lynch" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 10/10).
