Dale Jr. Hits "Tonight Show" To Talk Broadcast Career

Dale Earnhardt Jr. appeared on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” last night and said he’s “going to go into the broadcast booth so I get to stay at the race track and talk about what I love." Earnhardt: "Hopefully I'm good at it and hopefully I can do it for a very long time.” Host Jimmy Fallon asked, “Are you nervous?” Earnhardt: “Oh yeah. Driving cars was easy. But this career, I don't have a background in broadcasting. I have nothing really to lean on. But they say just go in there and be yourself and have fun.” Prior to the interview, Fallon and Earnhardt raced each other on “high-speed cooler scooters” around the studio. When asked if he was ready to race, Earnhardt said, “I’ve never been more ready in my life” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 6/27).
