Getting to Know Ryan

Year’s greatest challenge: My greatest challenge this year is continuously trying to improve. Fox Sports’ Big Noon Saturday became the most-watched TV window in all of college football in 2021, but I want to continue the growth and top our best year ever.

When I attend a sporting event, I want … : To feel the energy of the crowd.

Gamer status: I’m an avid gamer and regularly play PlayStation 5. My favorite games are NBA2K, Madden, and God of War.

My inspiration: My mother inspires me the most by encouraging me to pursue my passions. She has shown me how hard work and dedication can pay off.

In the Industry

Most rewarding about my job: I find creating more opportunities for fans to enjoy great sports on TV is the most rewarding aspect of my job. Some college football fans don’t like early start times for games no matter when you schedule them, but placing premier games at 12 p.m. ET demonstrates a resounding benefit to the masses of fans.

Biggest surprise when I started my career: The biggest surprise was learning the value of communication. Most early career failures are often due to a lack of proper communication. I made it a priority early on to focus on open lines of communication both internally and externally, which in turn helped foster great relationships.

Most exciting aspect of sports business: The unpredictable nature of sports (especially college sports) is what I find most exciting in this industry. Some days you get burned by a blowout or get stuck in a weather delay, but other times you strike gold and end up with a must-see shocking upset.

In 10 years, I hope to be … : A better version of the person I am today.
