ESPN+

New rights deals brought expanded live content on the platform for PGA Tour events, NHL games, La Liga and others. ESPN+ also saw record numbers for UFC. Its growing slate of original content was even more impressive, including shows like “Man in the Arena” with Tom Brady, “In The Crease,” “Eli’s Places” — an expansion of “Peyton’s Places” — “NFL Primetime” with Chris Berman, and more.

FanDuel

As sports betting companies fight for market share, FanDuel made a bold play for original content by re-signing Pat McAfee at $30 million annually and partnering with The Boardroom. The platform integrated Buzzer within its app, allowing existing users to see FanDuel’s betting odds and get push notifications on their sports wagers. It also extended its data deal with Sportradar through 2028.

Prime Video

The service signed a deal to have the first streaming-exclusive NFL package beginning in fall 2022, at $1 billion annually. It added exclusive rights for the WNBA (16 games) — its first for a professional women’s sports league — and created original documentaries or docuseries for Wayne Rooney, MotoGP, Arsenal, Australian swimmers (ahead of the Olympics) and others.

Paramount+

CBS continues to make the service a destination for live sports, including exclusive new deals for myriad soccer entities. It also continues to grow its presence with streaming for properties like the NFL, UEFA Champions League and more. Paramount+ also is the new home to the Emmy Award-winning “Inside the NFL,” now in its 45th season.

Peacock

NBC’s service was the streaming home of some big-time sports events such as the Winter and Summer Olympics (original documentaries on top of live events) and the Super Bowl, not to mention “Sunday Night Football,” Notre Dame football, the PGA Tour, NASCAR and more. A new Premier League deal also means more games on Peacock.
