Known as an innovator — and a competitive one — Christine Wixted delights in going big with Twitter’s partners. At Super Bowl LIV, she worked with the NFL to print tweets on the championship confetti that rained down on the Kansas City Chiefs as the game ended.

Most important lesson learned in 2020: Don’t take things for granted — they could be gone in an instant.

Ways to network or stay connected with peers this year: Using Twitter! I’ve found myself connecting more with peers in and outside of my network because of the way that Twitter allows you to seamlessly connect through a DM, a reply, or a follow.

Go-to person when I need help: My two sisters. We rarely go a day without talking and they’re the ones who know me best and are always there to give advice no matter the situation.

My inspiration: The underdog. I love witnessing individuals who were counted out prove everyone wrong and succeed.

In the industry

Biggest surprise when I started my career: How important it is to surround yourself with good and impactful people in the workplace.

Most exciting aspect of sports business: The technology. It continues to evolve at a rapid rate and it will be exciting to watch how sports continue to innovate alongside it.

How my generation is changing sports: Our generation has changed the way content is consumed. We’ve cut the cord and have pushed leagues, teams, broadcast networks, etc. to think differently on how they deliver content to our community.

Sports should address social issues by: Sports have a way of bringing people together. Those who are a part of the sports community should translate that power to social issues in order to push and advocate for change.

Sports industry needs to do a better job of … : Elevating women’s sports.

In 10 years I hope to be … : Leading a team of potential 30 under 30 candidates.
