more About you

Ways to network or stay connected with peers this year: Lots of calendar invites! Being virtual for so much of the year, it was too easy for weeks or months to go by without realizing it. It became so much more important to be intentional and proactive about ensuring we always had time to catch up, and then protecting it once it was scheduled.

Go-to person when I need help: Becca Roux, the executive director of the U.S. Women’s National Team Players Association, and my former boss, is often a go-to. She’s one of the best problem solvers I’ve ever worked with and is such an asset, not just for me, but also to the sports world in general.

My inspiration: My sister Kelsey definitely rises to the top here. Her ability to stare down any challenge with unflinching empathy, intelligence, self-awareness, and humor has always stood out to me and I count myself as lucky to have a front row seat to watch and learn from her own journey.

In the industry

Most exciting aspect of sports business: The growing influence and platform that athletes have, and the opportunity we have to help grow and amplify those platforms. There are so many ways to support all athletes on and off the playing surface, and the impact of doing so could be massive.

How my generation is changing sports: How fans engage with sports, placing focus on the athlete. Digital platforms have increased the opportunity for fans to engage with athletes beyond their performance. Who they are and what they care about has become just as compelling as what they do on the playing surface.

Sports industry needs to do a better job of … : Investing in the business of women’s sports.

In 10 years, I hope to … : Be able to buy as much officially licensed women’s sports merch as men’s, and that I will have been part of making that happen.
