Tech partner fuels new NIL athletes hub

Mobile tech company Venuetize is partnering with an athlete-focused name, image and likeness business to promote college athletes and seek commercial opportunities for them.

Venuetize will create what it is calling a content hub for each of the athletes who register with the Perpetual Sports Network. The content hub will be a robust source of information on the athletes, ranging from video highlights to documentary-style storytelling and long-form written stories.

A subscriber-based Perpetual Sports Network mobile app, developed and maintained by Venuetize, will be the host for all of the athlete-centered content. The idea is that the content will make the athletes more desirable for brands or anyone else who might bring commercial opportunities.

A veteran sports agent, David Glynn, launched Perpetual Sports Network over the summer and has begun discussions with schools about relationships. His partner in the network is former NBA player and coach Reggie Jordan.

“The content is what will differentiate us,” Glynn said.

PSN most likely will begin populating its athlete database by individual invitation, but Glynn ultimately hopes to sign schoolwide deals that would make all of a school’s athletes available on the network.

“This Is not just a directory of athletes,” Glynn said. “We’re going to be much more proactive about going out and finding these opportunities, not just for the star quarterback but also the center who protects him and may have an interesting story as well.”

Glynn, who is a certified agent through the players associations in the NBA and NFL, said he would consider himself more of a marketing rep than an agent for the athletes.

The network he’s creating with Venuetize will not preclude any athletes from being a part of any other athlete directories as well.
