DAZN hires first chief communications officer

DAZN hired Nancy Elder to be its first chief corporate communications officer. Elder, who starts July 8, will be part of DAZN’s executive committee. She reports to Executive Chairman John Skipper and will be based in New York.

ELDER

DAZN’s move to hire Elder is an interesting one that will become even more critical as the company decides whether to go public, get sold or court investors. In a prepared statement, Skipper said the hiring of Elder “is an important step for DAZN as we continue to mature as a company.” DAZN said Elder will oversee the company’s corporate brand both internally and to the business community. She also will be responsible for driving its social responsibility initiatives.

Elder has a wealth of experience, having been chief communications officer for Mattel and JetBlue Airways. Previously, she had senior positions at Time Warner, General Electric and Mastercard. DAZN’s global consumer communications will continue to be run out of London by Vice President Sarah Beattie. The company’s consumer communications in the U.S. and Canada will continue to be run out of New York by Vice President Chris Legentil.
