Agency’s new digs make statement in Chicago

The home of rEvolution puts the agency’s values on display in an open, sports-themed design that mixes work and play.

When Chicago-based sports marketing agency rEvolution outgrew its old home and began searching in 2015 for a new headquarters, the company wanted space not only to accommodate expansion, but also to make a design statement.

Consider its new office a success on both counts.

The agency’s new 23,000-square-foot office on Carpenter Street encompasses the entire ninth floor in Chicago’s bustling Fulton Market neighborhood and counts the new McDonald’s home base and Google’s Chicago offices as neighbors.

Designed in collaboration with Chicago-based IA Interior Architects, rEvolution’s office has custom steel furniture, a full bar, floor-to-ceiling windows and 360-degree city views.

Prominently displayed in the lobby is Emerson Fittipaldi’s IndyCar race car. Why Fittipaldi? The company points to the two-time winner of both the Indianapolis 500 and the Formula One championship as an international icon who, along with the car, represents the passion of global sports, which serves as a reminder of rEvolution’s brand and mission to everyone who walks in the door.

The office includes a stadium-like entrance with pennants featuring the company’s values, such as “We Are a Team,” displayed over wooden bleachers.

“It’s like coming in from the tunnel into a stadium,” said Brian Quarles, rEvolution’s chief creative officer, who along with company founder John Rowady had a major role in designing the space.

The entire office encourages collaboration with open work spaces and nine dedicated conference areas.

The office also features common areas such as the Bear & Rabbit bar and a sky deck that overlooks the city, both areas tailor-made for client entertaining and Friday happy hours.
