Basketball

The Memphis Grizzlies hired NICHOLAS FRASCO as senior vice president of revenue.

Colleges

The NCAA named NAIMA STEVENSON STARKS vice president of hearing operations to serve as liaison to the NCAA Committees on Infractions and Infractions Appeals Committees for all schools. Stevenson Starks was the organization’s deputy general counsel and managing director of academic and membership affairs.

The University of Utah named PAUL KIRK associate athletic director for strategic communications. Kirk replaces Senior Associate Athletic Director LIZ ABEL, whose retirement after 36 years at Utah is effective July 31. Kirk has managed Colorado State’s athletics communications for seven years.

The College of William & Mary named KEVIN DWAN senior associate athletic director for external operations for revenue generation and brand management. Dwan was at the Naval Academy for the past four years.

Esports

The Overwatch League’s Washington Justice named GRANT PARANJAPE vice president of esports business.

Football

The Arizona Cardinals promoted QUENTIN HARRIS to director of player personnel, DRU GRIGSON to assistant director of player personnel, ADRIAN WILSON to director of pro scouting, CHRIS CULMER to director of college scouting, JOSH SCOBEY to Western Regional scout and NATHAN DIGREGORIO to pro scout, and named KEEGAN LEYRER area scout in the West and ANDREW CASKIN scouting assistant.

The Detroit Lions promoted ROB LOHMAN to director of pro scouting, DAVE SEARS to director of college scouting and JUSTIN LICKER to pro scout.

The XFL named BRIAN MICHAEL COOPER president of the XFL team in Houston that is scheduled to begin play next year. Cooper was senior associate athletic director at Rice University.

Lacrosse

GF Sports named JIM BURDA chief business officer for the New York Riptide of the National Lacrosse League and executive vice president and chief revenue officer for GF Sports. Burda previously held positions at Wilson Sporting Goods and the WNBA’s Chicago Sky.

Media

Univision named JOSH TRAGER manager of multimedia sports sales.

Motorsports

McLaren Racing has appointed MARK WALLER to the new position of managing director of sales and marketing.

EVAN PARKER left his position as NASCAR vice president of content, where he had been since 2011.

Soccer

The Los Angeles Galaxy promoted KAREN GOODHEART to vice president of marketing and sponsorship activation; ASHLEY HALL to director of service and premium sales; LAUREN NOWINSKI to senior director of community relations and programming for the club’s foundation; KALA POLMAN-TUIN to director of partnership sales; LISA ROLLINS to senior director of analytics and research; ROBERT VARTAN to vice president of partnership sales; and ERIKA VELEZ to director of human resources for the Galaxy and Dignity Health Sports Park.

Other

GMR Marketing promoted JESSIE GIORDANO to senior vice president and head of the San Francisco office.

KPMG named DAVID LAVELLEE academic/scientific adviser of its Global Personal Development Programme for Athletes, and former Manchester United and Portland Timbers player EDDIE JOHNSON a consultant to the program.

rEvolution named EMILY SZYMCZAK chief financial officer.

The Special Olympics 2022 USA Games named MICHAEL WADDELL chief operating officer. KIRSTEN SUTO SECKLER has left the organization to be chief marketing and communications officer of Shatterproof.

ASHTON TURNER, Charleston Southern University’s associate athletic director for compliance and senior women’s administrator, is joining Vision Sports International.

Awards and Boards

The University at Buffalo placed first in the 2018-19 College and University Green Power Challenge, a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency program. The school’s various green energy systems generated a nation’s-best 224 kilowatt hours, the equivalent of 100% of the campus’ annual electricity use.
